Meesho has designed its product return policy to provide clarity and benefits to both its buyers and sellers. However, sellers should communicate clearly with buyers about return policies and conditions.
But many sellers can find Meesho’s product return policy complicated. If you are one of those sellers, then make sure to read this article to the end.
In this article, we will cover
The term “wrong item claim” on Meesho means that you have gotten a completely different product from what you have ordered. The wrong item includes a different item or the right item but with a different size, color, or model.
If something like this happens with anyone, the customer can request a refund or return of that item through Meesho’s app or website by providing the photos and videos of the incorrect product.
If you’re a seller on Meesho and you've received a wrong return (e.g., damaged item, different product, empty box, or used product), you can raise a claim with Meesho for a return or refund.
Follow these steps to raise a request regarding the delivery of an incorrect product from Meesho:
Step 1: Log in to the Meesho Supplier Panel
Step 2: Go to the ‘Returns’ Tab
Step 3. Click on ‘Raise Issue’ / ‘Dispute Return’
Step 4. Select the Reason for Claim
Step 5. Upload Evidence
This is the most important part:
Step 6. Submit the Claim

Tips to Avoid Claim Rejection
Meesho’s return policy clearly states that the customer is allowed to return the product within 7 days from the date of delivery.
You can return a product if it is damaged, defective, or different from what you ordered. The product should be unused and in the original packaging with all the necessary tags.
Meesho offers different tools to track and manage order history, all return and RTO (return to origin) fees, get orders, and more.
If a customer is dissatisfied with the product and returns it, the seller is charged a significant return shipping amount, which depends on the weight of the product.
If an order is not delivered to the customer, the seller does not have to pay any additional shipping fees.
If a customer cancels the order before the delivery, Meesho will not charge sellers any additional fees.
In some exceptional cases, Meesho can cancel the return shipping fees.
Here are the possible common reasons why Meesho cancels your claim:
Packaging and Return Issues: Meesho may reject the claim if the returning reason does not match the condition of the product or the product is missing any component that was originally attached to the product.
Policy Violation: Meesho owns the right to reject your claim if it does not comply with Meesho’s refund and return policies.
Bank or Platform Downtime: Your claim request can be affected by temporary bank server issues or some technical glitches/issues within the app.
Conclusion
We understand the product returning process can be frustrating for both buyers and sellers. But once you learn how wrong item claims on Meesho work and handle them correctly, you can solve these issues smoothly and maintain a good seller rating for your seller store.
